Windows does not let me synchronize

First of all, on a PC, the USB functions ONLY in Windows 98 and Windows 2000, NOT Win95 or NT.

More Information

First of all, on a PC, the USB functions ONLY in Windows 98 and Windows 2000, NOT Win95 or NT. The USB add-on for Win95 is useless for the Visor, and NT just doesn't support USB. The Windows 2000 software is on the Handspring website.

If you are running Win98 then make sure HotSync is installed and active. There should be a little blue/red circle/arrow icon in your taskbar. If not then go to your Palm directory and run it. If HotSync is running the check to see if USB access is checked off. Click on the icon and a list should pop up.

Try rebooting your computer AND soft resetting your Visor, as well as turning off any installed Hacks. If none of that works, try removing other USB devices and swapping ports for the Visor, etc.

Note: If you have the USB settings in the motherboard BIOS, make sure that USB ports are set as active. And make sure you have the proper USB drivers installed for your USB ports - a driver reinstall might help.
