GeoExchange launches

Thursday February 1, 2001 - 2:21 AM EST - By James Hromadka

GeoDiscovery launched GeoExchange today. Geode users can now upload their saved GeoPoints for all to see and use. Now you can let people know about that great little ice house that serves buffalo burgers, or that secret fishing spot of yours on the lake.

I don't believe that technically you must have the Geode to create a file for GeoExchange -- only GeoView Mobile is required. I downloaded the Krispy Kreme doughnut locations in Texas (only 1 KB) to use in my upcoming Geode review. There are only a few files so far, so get cracking on uploading locations! Show me the best bars to hit when VisorCentral goes to NY in June.

I also have word on some of the upcoming GeoGear accessories that will be available soon. They include a hiking bag, a black travel bag, an ExoShell (water resistant, weather proof for your Geode and Visor), a car adapter, and GeoDiscovery branded MMCs.

I'm hard at work on the Geode review and already have almost twenty images to use in the review. The review will go online over the weekend.
