iambic acquires MegaDoc

Sunday April 29, 2001 - 7:49 PM EST - By James Hromadka

iambic has acquired the MegaDoc word processor application for the Palm OS. iambic plans to release a new word processor based on MegaDoc by the end of June. At that time, current MegaDoc owners will get a free upgrade to the new iambic word processor.

One thing that I've always liked about the Palm OS is that there is real competition among applications. It looks like iambic will soon have an office suite based on its TinySheet and MegaDoc applications. This will compete with products from DataViz and Cutting Edge Software, as well as WordSmith from Blue Nomad. Since most Palm OS word processors are based on DOC, at least there's some level of compatibility accross the applications.

Hopefully iambic will release a Mac conduit for its word processor as well as Tinysheet (hint, hint).
