User Opinions: Hagiwara 16MB Flash Module

Mace MonetaToo small, too expensive

Thumbs Down

If this were a 64MB module for the price, it would be a good deal. At 16MB with the price equal to a 128MB SmartMedia, it's just not priced right. I recognize the additional functionality provided by automove, but that doesn't seem worth the price difference.

AnonymousCool!

Thumbs Up

Cool.. Stores all my spreadsheets, games, dictionary, bible, games, more games and pictures etc.. Just have to test all new apps to see if it crashes the memory module

ByronExcellent Storage Solution

Thumbs Up

This product have solve my needs flawlessly in storing large palm documents files. The only thing I have a negative mark on is can companies that produces these modules engrave the product information on the plastic casing instead of using a sticker label?

SKToo expensive

Thumbs Down

too expensive compared with compact flash, smart media, etc.

XanaduStep in the right direction

Thumbs Up

the hagiwara 16mb Flash Module is a step in the right direction. I, along with many other people that I have seen, see that the CF solutions are not really a solution to the shortage in RAM. I do not want a disk drive to carry around with me, I have a disk drive at my house! No, what I want is a device that when I turn it on I can access the information quickly without having to move it over. True CompactFlash would be more appealing with an automover, but the fastest storage system is going to be additional RAM that you can acces in a few seconds instead of having to wait for it to move. For a solution like this, a reasonable increase in price is not an issue. I think if Hagiwara wants to be a serious player the most important next step is to add the support for datafiles, making this the solution over portable disk drives. :-)

AnonymousSchwing!!!!!

Thumbs Up

If you've maxed out your 8mb springboard, the 16mb is must have upgrade. Same funcionality of the 8mb but twice the size.

TimothyCF still flawed without automove

Thumbs Up

CF isn't a solution unless you have an automover. CF really needs the ability for apps to run on the CF Card otherwise no matter how large the CF card, the app is bound by the space left on your handheld.

Darth RepublicanSpringboard Addiction

Thumbs Up

First I maxed out my Visor Deluxe's 8 MB of memory. Then I got an 8 MB Flash module and started carrying around Noah and Mapopolis. Then, I got religion and started carrying around a complete copy of the Bible in two languages on a second 8 MB module. If I get the 16 MB Hagiwara module, I can offload all those applications onto it, get an Eyemodule and use my 8 MB modules to store the pictures. Damn.
