Direct execution of Palm Apps stored on SmartMedia

Saturday May 26, 2001 - 3:23 AM EST - By Marcus Adolfsson

Portable Innovation Technology has developed a new application, PiDirect which allows for direct execution of Palm Apps and Databases (read-only, similar to the Flash module) stored on the MemPlug's SmartMedia Cards.

PiDirect can virtually increase the internal memory of Visor by 128MB using a 128MB SmartMedia Card.

In another word, MemPlug will function like a 128MB Flash Module with the help of PiDirect. Just store the apps and databases onto the SmartMedia Card and you will see the icons of the apps at the launcher.

PiDirect will be available for public download by June 15th 2001.
