Opinions: Datebk4
PastaGrrrl | Great datebook app, but worth the money? |
| DateBook4 is a great datebook application. I bought it a while ago for the $24 something dollar fee. I usually do not like to pay more than $20 dollars for any Palm OS app, but I don't regret spending the money on this one. It keeps me amazingly organized, has a bit of a complex interface but that's because of how powerful this app is. If you are looking for a good datebook app, one that is truly comprehensive, this is the one. |
Madkins007 | Great for power-users! |
| Datebk4 is definately for the person who needs more 'umph' than Datebk+ offers, but if you are one of these people, it is well worth it.
You pretty much have to read the manual to get the full effect (anyone interested in writing a 'Datebk4 for dummies" edition?).
I got great service via E-mail from Pimlico, and had no problems with it crashing my VDX. |
Ollie | unstable program |
| DateBk 4 keeps crashing on my plam vx. I give up. |
bookrats | My primary application |
| Does everything I want in a scheduler/datebook/appointment book. It's the app that makes my Visor truly useful. It IS complicated -- first time I've spent time reading the manual of a program in quite some time -- but if you don't need all this power, Datebk3 is still available and supported. A good rule of thumb is to use Datebook+ on your Visor, and then step up to Datebk3 and 4 incrementally, seeing how much you like each app. And only $25!! I'd pay twice that much EASILY for a product that does this much and works this well!!! |
ScottP | I use it every day |
| Color coding, custom views, and SO much more. It is especially useful on my Prism |
Anonymous | complete but complicated |
| worth the money if you need features unavailable in Datebk+. i have difficult scheduling/view requirements that datebk 4 meets---but, man, the manual |
Kopa | A Lifetime Lasting DateBook |
| Richly featured and well designed.
The simplest things in life are the better ones, and I find Datebk4 very simple and intuitive to use. |
Anonymous | Gotta have it, duh! |
| Yeah, it's essential and packed with features...just go get it! |
Dave | Nice but too complex |
| This program is feature-rich but also feature-heavy. The interface changes between DateBk3 and DateBk4 were excessive, and not necessarily worth the upgrade. For other reviewers who were concerned with stability, I've never had a problem with DateBk4.
For me, Action Names has a better interface and is far simpler to use. |
Anonymous | Definately an essential app. |
| I am an avid DB4 user. I tried Action Names and DB4 simultaneously for a month. In the beginning I was leaning toward action names but the more I used it, the clearer my choice bacame. The main things I like about DB$ are: Linking, templates and support. Sure its big, but it's replaced most of the apps I was using before anyway. Plus, with 8mb, 450K isn't really that bad. |
