Opinions: WriteRight
BabyT | Coverage area not quite big enough but still worth it |
| i read a few reviews & am surprised to hear very little comments about the screen coverage area. that is the most annoying thing about them, they are slightly not wide enough or tall enough to cover most of the screen. the width is more of a problem because when i use my stylus to copy and paste a line of text, i have to touch the stylus on the very beginning of the line, where the write-right does not cover the screen if it is applied exactly in the middle. other than that, they are expensive, but you can get a lot of mileage out of them. |
Anonymous | Use the Color PDA version |
| I used the "old" pebble-grained WriteRights on my Palm Pro and got up to 3 months from each one. Homemade clear protectors were cheap but didn't last long. Having read about WriteRights for Color PDAs, I tried them. Tough, and very clear. (I always ruin the first one trying to put it on, but the second went on very nicely.) |
kev head | well worth the cost |
| I scratched my Visor screen the first day, because something stuck to the tip of my stylus. I got a new Visor, have used WriteRight ever since, and no scratches. Been using them for six months and only gone through three. That brings the cost to about $1.50 per month. A great price to pay to protect your screen. |
Mad Dog Aug | It keeps protecting and protecting... |
| I put my WriteRight on the day i got my handspring and I didn't have to take it off not even once. I don't have to worry about accidental fingerprints or any other annoying smudges. The best part is that have 19 left!!! Buy it. Save yourself some trouble. |
George | I went without one for a month and was very sorry! |
| I've been using Palm (and now Handspring) PDAs since they were first introduced and have reliably used WriteRights, too. A couple of months ago I ran out (so much for planning ahead) and went without one on my Visor for almost four weeks. In that short time I managed to accumulate a set of small scratches, just in everyday use.
Now that I have a WriteRight back on the screen, I can't tell that the scratches are there and won't every go without again. |
CrzyEd | Expensive, but worth enough for a smudge-free screen. |
| I know that the WriteRight is expensive, but I hate to stare to a scratch or smudge in my Visor. The WriteRight protects the screen and will keep it viewable for years. |
JP | I hate it! |
| It's like putting a sheet of paper on your screen!
Useless and expensive. |
LambdaFox | better protectors are available |
| I tried the WriteRights, and found the fuzziness they caused on my Visor to be unacceptable with a number of apps.
I got some of the "crazy patent guy"'s protectors and am very happy with them. |
T. L. Gilbert | WriteRight Screen "Condoms" - They certainly do the job! |
| After replacing my first Visor Deluxe after 60 days of use due to minor but irritating screen damage,(fully covered by CompUSA's 2 year extended warranty, btw) I swore that I'd apply a WriteRight on the new one before I'd allow a stylus to touch the screen, good call on my part, the screen is totally cherry after lots and lots of use.
I find the covers last longer than 1 month too, but I may try the WinCE version soon to get a smoother surface for crisper viewing. Wrap that rascally screen up with a WriteRight, you'll be glad you did. |
dsaroff | Blurry: Like going back to the old low def Pilot 5000 screen |
| I like the texture, and do find
it useful to cut and simply cover
Graffiti area, but it causes the
main screen to look to blurry and
dim.
However, they have a new RightWrite
for the Palm IIIc, which is absolutely
clear and works quite nicely!! |
