Opinions: Handspring Plastic Beltclip
Anonymous | Too exposed |
| I saw; I rejected. It leaves the Visor too exposed. If this is considered the "jock", I'll wait for the briefs before I replace my leather folio case. |

| I have been using the belt clip for about a month now. I take my visor everywhere! At work or home I haven't had it come loose yet. I do wear an actual belt more to be safe vs just clipping it to the top of my jeans (which I still do from time to time). To sum it up....Works for me! |

Anonymous | Clip is weak to start, then broke. |
| Get a palm leather case! |
Anonymous | Too flimsy |
| Had two that broke on me, both within a month. The spring clip is just too weak. |
Zack's Dad | POS. get a camera case instead. |
| Got the belt clip expecting it to be flexible enough to adjust to sitting and driving. Not! I just found a camera case for the point-and-shoot type cameras from Case Logic. The case has a zipper pouch along with a velcro flap. The carrying handle has a snap that allows you to run your belt thru it. I work in construction and this is the perfect way to carry it to the job site and protect it as well. I would recommend this instead of the handspring clip and the camera case was only $10.00 at Target. |
Anonymous | Spring tension too loose |
| I love the the case but the spring
on the clip is worthless. Everytime
you stand up you have to make sure
it's securely in place. 1 month
after I had my new Visor the case/Visor
came off my belt and fell onto a
tile floor - screen broke and I had
to pay $85 to have my brand new
Visor replaced. No sympathy from
Handspring. I'm currently looking
for another case. Pager's, cell
phones, etc. have clips that you
can trust - but you can't trust
this one - and Visor's are too
fragile to not trust the case. |
MbassadorK | WAS going to say "I liked it" |
| but my second one just broke - and after the hassle I went through to get this replacement (the one that just broke) I don't think I'm even gonna bother trying to get a new, new one...
getting a replacement required me to order and pay for a new one, then ship the broken one back (at my own expense). I even had to order it directly from Handspring (which is a problem all by itself because I have a VISA debit, not credit card and Handspring don't let you use debit cards). So now, if I want a new one, I have to call them, get an RMA number and send the broken back (on my dime), order a new one from them (shipping on me again...) WAY too much hassle - it's really a shame, because if it didn't keep breaking I would've recommended it - if they'd use metal or better plastic so it wouldn't break I definitely would recommend it (sorry, climbing off my soapbox now). |
Anonymous | Too flimsy |
| The clip flew apart the very first time I attempted to sit down while wearing this thing. That left me with no confidence in it at all - which was why I admittedly didn't even try to reassemble it. |
Anonymous | Flimsy |
| The basic ergonomics of it worked well for me. My Visor didn't slip out, it rode comfortably on my hip, etc. However, because it rode on my hip, it would get bumped and jostled and the clip broke within two months.
Get something with a cloth loop, or maybe a swivel-clip, instead.
