Motorola takes stake in Palm

Tuesday December 14, 1999 - 5:48 PM EST - By James Hromadka

Motorola announced today that they have signed a Memo of Understanding (MOU) with Palm Computing.

"Under the terms of the MOU, Motorola expects to license the Palm operating system for use in Motorola products. Additionally, Motorola has taken a minority equity stake in Palm Computing, a wholly-owned subsidiary of 3Com Corporation."

This does not change the commitment that Motorola has to the Symbian alliance that Palm rival Psion is involved with. Read the press release for more information.
