Results of Flash Poll Thursday February 24, 2000 - 10:38 PM EST - By James Hromadka Probably one of the most commonly discussed issues in VisorCentral's discussion area is the fact that there is no Flash ROM in the Handspring Visor. FlashROM allows operating system updates that will stay on the Visor even if you perform a hard reset. Handspring still can release OS updates and patches, but they will reside in RAM. One of the main reasons that Handspring did not include Flash ROM is so the Visor would not be too expensive, so we asked, "Should Handspring have Flash ROM in the next Visor?" The overwhelming response was, not surprisingly, YES!!! Over 90% of our readers want to see Flash ROM in the next Visor.
