Voice-recognition in cars Tuesday April 18, 2000 - 8:24 PM EST - By James Hromadka Delphi Automotive Systems Corp. and Palm announced an agreement that would put portable voice-recognition systems in cars that would allow drivers to access their Palm devices. The special cradle would fit in a cupholder and plug into a standard cigarette lighter. From the Reuters story: Drivers will be able to use the device to send and retrieve information from their Palm handheld devices on a hands-free basis.Price has not yet been set and a Handspring Visor edition has not been announced at this time. The Palm edition will be available in retail stores in the fourth quarter. Click here for the press release. |
