Firepad licenses PDF Friday October 27, 2000 - 12:40 PM EST - By James Hromadka Firepad announced today that they have licenced the Adobe PDF technology for use in its viewer and server applications. From the press release: The agreement will allow Firepad™ to build Adobe® Acrobat® PDF support into its FirePublisher™ server application, which delivers text and graphics out to Palm™ devices in a highly optimized format. Palm™ devices display the transmitted data using FireViewer™, the leading rich content client application for the Palm OS®. FirePublisher™ is scheduled for release during November of 2000.Seeing as how their viewer can show 8000x8000 images, hopefully I can start carrying around on my Visor all these PDF press kits that I get. I just hope their next version supports 16-bit color. |
