VC-Bits: Firepad, Landware, contest Tuesday December 26, 2000 - 11:38 PM EST - By James Hromadka Well I'm finally back from Christmas vacation and it's time to go back to work. Here are some news blurbs I received from some companies in the past few days... Landware has a new version of the Zagat Restaurant Guide with review and cost ratings as well as a host of other features. Upgrade for $14.95 or get the full version for $29.95. Also, I noticed their floating*point stylus is now set to be available in January. Firepad will have a Mac version of its FireConverter that allows users to view images and other media using FireViewer on the Visor. FireConverter Mac will be available in January. For those who didn't get the 12/22 Question right, according to a recent Handspring press release, the "VisorPhone is available now at Handspring.com with competitive service plans available in select regions from Cingular Wireless, a leading GSM (Global Systems for Mobile Communications) carrier in the United States. Blame Marcus if you don't agree.
