Install apps directly to TM+ Thursday February 22, 2001 - 6:50 PM EST - By James Hromadka  Card Access has released a bonus application, USBFileMover, that Thinmodem Plus (TM+) users can download. USBFileMover allows Windows users to install files directly to/from the Visor or the flash memory of the TM+ without the need to perform a full HotSync.
I gave USBFileMover a try, and it is a fast and convenient way to backup all of your Visor or TM+'s memory to your Windows desktop or install applications to the Visor or the TM+'s memory. It seems to only work with the TM+, as I was unable to delete or copy files from the MiniJam's 2 MB of flash memory. One interesting side-effect of USBFileMover is that you can copy hidden files that are on the module. I was able to copy FileMover to my Visor and run it with no module installed. If USBFileMover could work with other modules, this could be an easier way for manufacturers to update internal module applications. Even if you don't have a TM+, USBFileMover is a convenient installation/backup application for Windows. Click here to download the software. |
