Handspring Protection Plan Wednesday May 2, 2001 - 12:41 AM EST - By Marcus Adolfsson Available starting today, the Handspring Protection Plan is a program that gives customers the option of extending warranty coverage of the Visor handheld and VisorPhone products. Each of the plans will include quick and easy turnaround on all returns and repairs and transferable coverage, which allows the warranty to stay with the product, independent of owner. Pricing will occur as a one-time charge for all protections offered. For those customers who purchase any Visor handheld computer, Handspring will offer two different ways to protect their investment. Customers can augment the existing manufacturer's warranty by purchasing a one-time replacement of their handheld computer screen that is good for any time within the terms of the original manufacturer's warranty. Another program offering includes both an extension of the one-year warranty that ships with the product and a one-time screen replacement. For VisorPhone customers, Handspring will offer the opportunity to extend the original manufacturer's warranty for 12 months. The price of these warrantees ranges from $29.99 - $49.99. The Handspring Protection Plan is available directly from Handspring and is currently available in the United States and Canada only. |
